Almost Gone-

Back into the 60s today, but I wanted to get at least one snowscape posted--since we only get snow once every three or four years. And since the snow melted by about noon yesterday, I had very little time to shoot...this is about all I got- Maybe in 2012 I can do better...

This pic was taken about 9am, and the snow had already melted about halfway...by 11am, there was barely a trace left-

IMG_9391d - "Grass Covered Hills..."

This was going to be "Snow Covered Hills", but I don't really know when (if?) we're ever going to get any snow, so I took the shot anyway... It was actually a beautiful day, about 60ish degrees and sunny. :)

IMG_4026c Late Afternoon Sun Through the Trees

One of only a few shots I took today - About a half hour before sunset on a beautiful day. This picture was taken about 120 miles further south than yesterday's picture and there is just not much fall color to be found...And I've just noticed that I've posted three trees in a row....I'll try for something different tomorrow.

IMG_2675b Light at the End of the Boardwalk
***Based on suggestions, slightly altered version here: IMG_2675c

Hiked briefly through Dismal Swamp (located in Big Hill Pond S.P.) today. A place I will definitely have to go back to. This picture was taken on the 0.8 mile boardwalk through the swamp. I thought it was neat how the sun was lighting up the exit of the boardwalk in this picture.

Another hard choice today as I had some others that I really liked. Some fall leaves covering the boardwalk, and some starbursts from the direct sun -- Just a few can be found here.

IMG_8203 Trees Backlit by the Sun, Canyon Falls, MI

Lots of waterfall pics today, but the sun was very harsh, so I chose these trees instead. There were a couple of waterfall pics that were ok, particularly this one with the copper colored water.
